Sprinkle of imagination March Challenge

Hello friends,

Sprinkle of Imagination blog has a fabulous color palette this time so decided to just give a try....just hop over to the blog for more fab fab inspirational work from their design team....

heres their beautiful spring color palette:

I was trying my hand at collage this time...an abstract....just trying to graduate and learn more techniques in this mixed media arena....I took up colors ruby red, pale lime, sage and a hint of plum from the color palette and always add black and white...

I started with a thick cardstock and collaging my background with magazine papers and my favorite old book pages...I used gesso, mists, stamps, and sharpie pens to finish...

Thanks for visiting...

SimonSaysStamps Monday challenge:Lucky + step-by-step

hi everyone,

Just dropping in quickly to share a tag I made for SimonSaysStamps Monday challenge:Lucky..

I made a simple tag with lots of stamping...just made sure it has green over it for st. patrick's day theme...

Materials: a tag, prima stamps, doodlebug designs alphas, Faber-castell gelatos, gesso/whilte acrylic paint

Step-by-step
1. I started with a plain tag and covered it with old book page(a dictionary page also works). That gives you a nice printed background.
2. Adhere the book page completely over the tag and stick it with glue or whatever suits your need.
3. Brush gesso or white acrylic pain all over the tag and just slightly rub it with baby wipes.
4. Then take faber-castell gelatos(color of your choice) and just rub it over the places you want on your  tag.
5. Spritz some water or you can just rub it with your finger all over.
6. Now comes my favorite part i.e. stamping...take the stamp of your choice and stamp on the tag.  I took the prima stamp for flowers and the bo-bunny for hexagons(barely visible).
7. To end it just stamp the borders of the tag with archival ink and put alphas and then you can add a few black dots with any black ink or you can put some crystal dots or enamel dots on your tag.

a sprinkle of imagination-Jan Monthly challenge

hello everyone,

Well another day of chilly weather...it's so freezing...

For me it was another day of fun as I got to do one more piece of my trials...I have been following this blog www.asprinkleofimagination.blogspot.com  for quite some time now and I been trying to participate in one of their monthly challenge.

This time I just made it an effort to do one of their challenges and their monthly challenge had such beautiful colors in the palette... I just tried to use all the colors in the palette..

Here is the palette:

And here is my take on this lovely palette:

I just sat down to do a trial so couldn't take pictures of the whole process....but I used acrylic paints, a few stamps, gesso, Archival inks and letter stencil.

For those triangles I used The Crafter's Workshop - 6 x 6 Doodling Templates - Mini Triangle Mosaic. I also used Faber-Castell gel sticks to give it a little dimension.

Ladies you still have time to do the challenge and you can hop over to the blog  for more fabulous inspiration and challenge rules.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a good weekend...

Fena xoxo
