Scrap Around The World-April challenge!!

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had an awesome weekend...
Stopping by today to quickly share a layout I made for the
challenge at Scrap Around The World(April Challenge)...
It is such a BIG challenge blog and this is the first time around I am participating here....
OMG you get to see talent from all around the world
and it has such an awesomely talented DT...

The mood board was so so captivating that I couldn't let it go!! It has this saying that 'Don't overthink just let it go'.......I've not done a single layout since July 2013(had taken a break due to family emergency)...its been almost a year now ...this mood board really motivated me to just let go off my fears and scrap freely with whatever comes to my mind...so here's their awesome mood board for this month:-

And here's my take on this mood board:-

I love butterflies and that turqoise and the sapphire colors is my favorite...for the cracks in the mood board i tried stamping with the crackle stamp because I didn't had crackle paint in my stash(thats next in my purchase list now...lol!!)

I used the paper from the very stunning 7 Dots Studio Cold country collection....I thought 'Freezing tears' paper would be perfect since it had those cracks print on them.....hope I did justice to this 7 dots studio paper because they are just awesome mixed media papers...

I then  used shimmerz and acrylic paints...and my fav bo-bunny and prima stamps and lots of prima flowers...

With 2Crafty chipboard-Angie's vines I colored them in gold paint and then applied a little gesso....

Supplies used:
7 dots Studio-Cold country collection-Freezing tears
Shimmerz-Sapphire
acrylic paints
Bo-Bunny and prima stamps
Prima flowers
2Crafty-Angie's vines
prima say it in crystals

Till then take care and happy scrapping....

a few egg-decorating tips!!

Hello everyone,

Easter is just around the corner and I just  thought to challenge myself with some egg decorating mission and here I dived down to the concept and came up with some very easy and quick egg decorating tips.  As I am still exploring a variety of products/supplies and techniques I got a very basic and hands-on list needed to decorate the eggs.

First up you can work with Ranger Perfect-Pearl metallic range powder.  You can just put a little gel-medium on it, even that that comes with perfect pearls and just brush across with the powder.  I used gold here and it gives a very nice effect.

Second, you can use Sharpie metallic fine-point markers that comes in Gold, silver and bronze.  Metallic pens just work wonders on the eggs. You can just play around with any patterns that you like, you can doodle,
you can just make geometrical shapes, sky is the limit.
Here's what I did- I painted my egg with blue water-based acrylic paint and then
took my bronze metallic pens and made these wavy patterns around.
I tried to write with it in few places.

Third, my favorite is mixed media.  I dipped the egg in coffee, yes coffee, for sometime so that it takes that effect and then tried using red and black acrylic paints on it and a few stamps and
white dots here and there.

Material List:
Ranger perfect pearls (metallic range)
Sharpie Metallic Fine Point Permanent Markers
brush
acrylic/water colors

I have also pinned some very nice decorating tips and techniques on my Pinterest page.  Check it out!!

Happy Easter and happy crafting friends,

Hello friends,

Sprinkle of Imagination blog has a fabulous color palette this time so decided to just give a try....just hop over to the blog for more fab fab inspirational work from their design team....

heres their beautiful spring color palette:

I was trying my hand at collage this time...an abstract....just trying to graduate and learn more techniques in this mixed media arena....I took up colors ruby red, pale lime, sage and a hint of plum from the color palette and always add black and white...

I started with a thick cardstock and collaging my background with magazine papers and my favorite old book pages...I used gesso, mists, stamps, and sharpie pens to finish...

Thanks for visiting...
